About
I direct the University of Florida-IFAS Plant Medicine Program which trains students in all aspects of the prevention, diagnosis and management of plant health problems and has served as a model for similar programs worldwide. This multi-disciplinary, professional doctoral program consists of courses and internships in all relevant agricultural science disciplines and leads to the Doctor of Plant Medicine degree. Graduates have found interesting and rewarding careers in crop consulting, agricultural regulation, cooperative extension, plant health management, teaching and throughout many segments of the agricultural industry in the US and worldwide. We believe these Plant Doctors have had a positive impact on agriculture by promoting plant and crop health while protecting the environment. The Plant Medicine Program has served as the model for a number of similar programs in the US and internationally.
