About
My research focuses on the relationship between humans and the natural environment, particularly the impact of Amerindian societies on diverse ecologies of northwestern South America. I approach this problem through three principal lines of research. The first is the historical ecology of the Upper Amazon and Northern Andes. The second emphasizes the role of ideology in human relations with the environment. The third line focuses on the history of archaeology and anthropology in Latin America.
