About
Alissa Jordan is an alumni fellow and PhD Student in the Department of Anthropology at the University of Florida, also studying in the Department of Art and Art History. In 2009, she graduated from the University of Chicago with a Masters in Social Sciences. Her research interests include theories of time, the materiality of security, infanthood, and states of exception in Haiti and in Haitian Petwo Vodou practice. In the Department of Art History, she is interested in the aesthetics of security and base materiality in power objects in Central Africa and the Carribean. She is also a photographer and a writer.
